Welcome to Basic Basketball |
Welcome to Basic Basketball®, a year-round basketball program designed and dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of basketball to boys between 6-13 years of age. Our program focuses on teaching both basketball fundamentals as well as basic life fundamentals that will help give our youth a foundation upon which to build their futures. Basic Basketball is dedicated to building self-esteem, self-respect, and confidence while promoting a positive attitude towards others as well as the sport of basketball. The program holds in high regard positive disciplinary behavior by all participants and is committed to helping our youth understand the importance of setting and achieving personal & team goals. My staff and I will work to develop, with the support of our children’s parents, good work ethics that will help them far beyond the sport of basketball. We will work to develop important life values that will help guide them through events they will surely encounter throughout life.
If we look at our world today, young men of all ethnic backgrounds are challenged, sometimes before they reach the age of 10, to make decisions that will shape the rest of their lives. Basic Basketball hopes to give our youth other alternatives. We will attempt to plant a seed that will grow to produce a positive behavior and a positive mindset towards simple words like HARD WORK, DEDICATION, & COMITTMENT. These simple words can help give children a solid foundation to revert back to whenever life seems to require more then just a smile.
If I can share with you a piece of my life, I look back at the time when I was between 6 and 13 years of age. The time, energy, tutoring, and patience my father, family members, and other coaches spent with me during this critical time of my life helped me become the person I am today. Their dedication to the youth of yesterday can and will reach the youth of today and tomorrow. This experience planted a seed in me to do the same for this generation. The youth that are a part of this organization will tell you that our mission statement is clear. We live by the phrase “ONE VOICE – ONE SOUND”.
So please pledge your support of our youth of today and our leaders of tomorrow by taking our mission statement to heart. Please become a part of our organization by coming out and seeing first hand the vision that God gave me back in 2006. I welcome you to investigate our program and witness what we do to accomplish the goals I have stated above.
